ChatFederation matches people by shared interest, shows each side a profile and a peer rating before a call opens, and lets both people stay in touch afterwards.
1. You choose the subject
Channels gather people around one interest — sign language, language practice, tech, music, climate, philosophy — and you can add as many of your own topics as you like. Nothing fits? Start a channel and grow it. You can also play a game together while you talk.
2. You approve the person
Their profile and rating open every match. Say hello in text first if you want; video opens only when you both agree. Afterwards you rate each other, which is what the next person sees. How trust works.
3. You keep who you like
Add someone after a conversation that went well, message them, and meet again without waiting for a match. The network grows on you instead of resetting.
How old this is
ChatFederation opened in September 2026. It is an independent project, built and run in Germany — the company behind it is named in the imprint. Some channels have people on them all day; others are still finding theirs.
If yours is quiet, none of it is a dead end. The search widens on its own. You can schedule a conversation for ten minutes from now or next weekend and share the link. And subscribing to a channel means it tells you the moment somebody starts looking in it, so you never have to sit and watch for them.
